Smart (or Mild) Hybrid Technology is designed to improve a vehicle’s fuel efficiency and overall driving performance without relying solely on electric drive.
A mild hybrid vehicle features an additional Lithium-Ion battery and an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) motor, which is connected to the engine crankshaft via a belt.
How It Works:
The ISG motor serves dual purposes:
01. Acts as a starter motor to crank the engine during ignition.
02. Works as a generator to recharge the battery during deceleration or braking (regenerative braking).
The stored electric energy assists the engine during:
01. Acceleration, providing a torque boost
02. Idling or stop-start traffic, by automatically switching the engine off and on
